Job Description
About the role:
Reporting to the Energy and Distribution Systems Operational Technology Manager, the purpose of this role is to design, maintain and develop the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and assist in maintaining existing operational technology systems.
In detail
Contribute to the design and build of our ADMS, including developing of documentation and standards.
Ensure a high level of operation, reliability, and availability of the SCADA and ADMS, and other OT assets, during normal and emergency operations.
Build, configure and test new and updated OT assets in the SCADA/ADMS system.
Improve existing SCADA and Operational Technology systems.
Innovate and continuously advance the ADMS to ensure efficiency for users and that business and customer expectations are meet.
With the support of relevant departments (Digital Infrastructure, GIS etc.) ensure the OT and ADMS platforms security and integrations are maintained and developed as required.
Provide support and respond to faults on ADMS systems during and outside business hours and provide rostered on call as required.
Ensure that all operations on Marlborough Lines’ Network, under direction of the Energy and Distribution Systems Operations Technology Manager, are undertaken in a manner consistent with relevant legislation and industry best practice, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Network and maintaining its future viability.

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
To be successful in this role you will need the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical (NZQA Level 7). Washington Accord Accredited degree (desirable)
A minimum 5 years’ control systems experience in the electricity supply industry (10 years + is even better).
Experience with SCADA, Outage Management and Distribution Systems, SCADA protocols such DNP, OPC, and ICCP.
Electrical Distribution Business engineering experience (desirable).
Understanding of the electricity distribution environment.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, virtual computing, TCP/IP networking, and NoSQL databases (desirable).
Ability to learn quickly.
Problem solving & decision making.
Be highly motivated and able to work unsupervised.
Ability to set own targets and meet target timeframes.
Be well organised and possess systematic and effective work habits.
Ability to record data accurately and systematically.
